We had such a wonderful visit to Erel Spices last week — easily one of the highlights of our time in Thekkady!We paid Rs. 300 for a coffee, tea and honey tasting, along with an introduction to the world of spices. We unfortunately had to cut our visit short as we were leaving Thekkady that evening, but we would have happily stayed much longer and learned more.The coffee tasting was particularly special. Joshy uses modern, carefully considered brewing techniques — including methods like the V60 — and clearly has a real passion for both coffee and the craft behind it. His attention to detail is impressive, but what makes the experience truly memorable is his creativity and enthusiasm.Our kids enjoyed it too! They were fascinated listening to Joshy, tasting his various coffee concoctions, and especially enjoyed some delicious coffee mocktails. He has a wonderful way of making the experience engaging and fun for children as well as adults.We learned a lot, had plenty of laughs, and left with big smiles. Joshy really went above and beyond to make our visit special — even giving us a lift to our next stop when we were leaving!We were also very happy with our purchases.
